Total Professional Experience

Take a visual tour of our new client features in Pyxis Mobile 7.1
  • Android Ready: Pyxis Mobile is thrilled to add Android—the fastest-growing mobile platform—to our product portfolio! Our Configure Once, Run Anywhere™ paradigm allows you to deploy Pyxis Mobile applications to multiple device types at once so that your mobile fleet can view and interact with the same data across BlackBerry, iOS, and now Android devices.
  • iPad Support: Pyxis Mobile applications are now available natively on the iPad! Use Application Studio and leverage the power of the Pyxis Mobile platform to launch enterprise-grade tablet applications.
  • Highly Flexible Push: We have enhanced our Push Server by adding iPhone Push Notification and BIS services to our existing BES push support. 7.1 Push allows tight OS integration like Inbox messages and profile alert settings such as LED indicator color. Each push notification is completely customizable; notification text, sender, and badge count can be statically or dynamically generated. Notifications permit one-click navigation to a screen with details on the alert.

  • New to 7.1 is iPad Support
  • Sticky Headers: Headings may now snap and fix at the top of the screen to keep you oriented when scrolling up and down lists, sections, and groupings of information on composite screens.
  • Rich, Interactive Usage Reporting: Capture who’s doing what from where using Pyxis Mobile OVERWATCH, our browser application that brings customers presentation-grade reports of their Pyxis Mobile usage activity and metrics. OVERWATCH offers the powerful abilities to sort and refine data by individuals, companies, carriers, device types, activities, and the like. OVERWATCH comes with a collection of rich charts, and reports to monitor your company’s mobile activity such as the most prevalent device, model or carrier, the most and least visited screens, and response-time performance trends.
  • Video Support: Our new video control supports embedding any movie in your mobile applications. Video capability lets you add news casts, how-to videos, and other valuable multimedia to your mobile application.
  • Configurable Screen Transitions: You can select from a collection of animation effects that transition you from one screen to the next including page turning, covering and revealing, fading in and out, flipping, and zooming transitions.
  • Multi-Platform Image and Styling Consistency: Platform-specific image support assures that your graphics look great across all resolutions throughout the range of mobile devices. Screen resolution, image sizing, and capability vary widely across the spectrum of mobile devices. Pyxis Mobile offers the ability to consistently style your images, fonts, colors, and formatting based on mobile OS, device model, screen resolution, and other settings by globally managing what’s common to all devices while allowing for adjustments to accommodate device differences.
  • Multi-Pin Mapping: Pyxis Mobile maps support an array of pins dropping onto multiple locations, customized route planning, and business data on-map, with drilldowns into point-of-interest details. Map pins come standard or support your custom logo.
  • Application Invocation: We have exposed the Pyxis Mobile 7.1 client so that it may now be invoked by custom applications. This feature allows our customers to write their own applications that leverage the power of the Pyxis Mobile platform. For example, a custom news application could invoke the Pyxis Mobile client to handle authentication, entitlement, and access to real-time secure data sources. Applications may invoke the Pyxis Mobile client “in context”—passing a stock ticker to open a quote screen or a ticket number to open a support item–with the feeling of never leaving the original application. This feature extends our existing ability to invoke 3rd party applications such as email, phone, maps, media players, PDF readers, and all other callable applications.

  • Pyxis Mobile 7.1 is Android ready
  • Ubiquitous Drilldown Support: Pyxis Mobile expands drilldown capabilities to the control level, making it possible to get context sensitive views and menus by tapping or selecting any control such as a field or region of a form. Treating areas of data like buttons, this feature enables tapping a box of an event name and date to navigate to a map of the event location, or selecting a chart to drill into details on performance numbers.
  • Faster, More Powerful Server Calls: We have optimized server queries for speed, cut seconds off new configuration download time, offered detailed performance data capturing, and upgraded to WSE 3.0 for WSDL data.
  • Application Studio Enhancements: Pyxis Mobile adds more features to App Studio that both support 7.1 features and make application development more intuitive. Command-line import and export allows companies to migrate mobile applications from development to testing to production via automated processes without user intervention, as well as include App Studio maintenance as part of their scheduled tasks. The View Builder uplift lets you see more realistic previews of how form screens will look on the mobile device as you build.
